CHILDREN’S BEHAVIOURAL EXPECTATIONS AGREEMENT
At Mount Maunganui Jiu Jitsu, we provide structured martial arts classes designed to support learning, discipline, respect, and safe participation within a group environment.
To ensure the safety and experience of all students, children attending classes are expected to:
• follow coach instruction
• listen when corrected or redirected
• demonstrate safe behaviour toward coaches and training partners
• participate respectfully within class structure
• maintain appropriate self-control during training
Parents/guardians acknowledge that:
• Martial arts classes are group-based environments and coaches are unable to provide ongoing one-on-one behavioural management during sessions.
• Repeated disruptive, unsafe, aggressive, or non-compliant behaviour may result in a child being removed from class, sat out temporarily, or asked to pause group training.
• If ongoing behavioural challenges continue despite repeated coaching and redirection, the club may recommend private lessons or a temporary break from training to help develop understanding of class expectations before returning to group classes.
• Mount Maunganui Jiu Jitsu reserves the right to determine whether a student is currently suitable for participation in group martial arts training.
Our priority is maintaining a safe, respectful, and positive training environment for all students.
